Guest article by Carmen Schosnig, Lebenshilfe Offenburg, on the LkSG implementation project within the organization. What is important, what is crucial based on project experience.
Disabled assistance companies can play a crucial role in the strategic implementation of CSRD. On the one hand, they are market players themselves and must implement the LkSG; on the other hand, as suppliers, they contribute to the fulfillment of legal requirements with their services and products. Especially for non-profit companies, for example those providing disability assistance, barrier-free or barrier-free access to digitization and automation of processes is a must-have at the beginning of every implementation initiative.
Intuitive access to the user interface is rightly considered the supreme discipline for the work of people with disabilities. Starting with the upload options from supplier systems - such as the existing ERP - the intelligent preconfiguration of masks in the backend helps to identify data gaps and to process them in a targeted manner. An out-of-the-box solution that restricts itself to the presentation of the essential fields of action and uses these to guide you through the process helps to reduce costs and successfully integrate people with disabilities and relieve the burden on specialists.
Smaller companies or companies in the social economy often have few resources for compliance measures. Comprehensive risk analyses regarding direct or indirect suppliers also require enormous effort in operational practice. Effective tools provide a selection of indices such as the country index or the industry index. Without any in-depth specialist knowledge, each supplier can now be subjected to a fully automatic abstract risk analysis based on the selected specific factors and assignments.
The mapping and sustainable management of the supply chain place great demands on data processing and the required analyses. Only by using, expanding and validating the supply chain database can the new challenges of external reporting requirements, such as those of the legislator, be met. The abstract risk analysis that has already been carried out provides clear indications of how to prioritize the areas of action and efficiently subject risks to a more in-depth examination. Supply chain management can now focus on preventive measures and remedial measures in accordance with the LkSG.
